Thank you for joining us to celebrate this special occasion. We hope our wedding day is filled with love, joy, laughter and most importantly family and friends - that’s where you come in! This website should provide you with all the necessary information you need for the day but if you need anymore information please reach out to me, Rachel, on 0831581149 - Don’t text Dónal he’s not to be trusted with important information!!
Our ceremony will begin at 2pm so we kindly ask everyone to be in attendance by 1:30pm.
The dress attire is black tie optional - don’t go buying a new suit or a floor length gown but if you’d love to get involved in the bridal parties black tie vibes please do! Kinnitty Castle is the perfect location to go FANCY!
There will be Defense forces members attending the wedding wearing all their fancy gear! We would kindly ask everyone not to share any photos of anyone in a uniform that isn’t Dónal on any social media platforms including WhatsApp - the lads will want to relax and enjoy the day so please respect their privacy
As the rooms in Kinnitty Castle are limited, anyone staying in the Castle will now have been confirmed by the Bride and Groom. You can now call or email Kinnitty Castle ([email protected] / 00353 5791 37318) to confirm your booking - please do this as soon as possible, you won’t be charged for you room until the day you check in.
Anyone who hasn’t been booked into the Castle, there are some wonderful B&Bs only down the road in Kinnitty Village. There will be a taxi on the night as the roads aren’t very well lite for walking home! Here is a list of accommodation (Kinnitty is extremely busy during the summer due to the proximity to the Slieveblooms so we advise early booking)
Giltraps B&B and Cabins - (057) 9137076 / email [email protected] (This accommodation has a lovely small B&B and also several very cool Cabins on there property!)
Ardmore Country House B&B - Booking.com
Friday is a day off (Maid of Honour and Best Man suggest differently aka a local pub!) but Saturday we are continuing through party with our Day Two in Cahir House Hotel, Co.Tipperary. As we are having a small wedding on the Thursday in Kinnitty, we are taking the Saturday as the opportunity to invite everyone and have a big party! We would love if you could join us for this at 6pm for food, music, photobooths and craic.
For anyone coming to Kinnitty the night before the wedding, we will be having a very chill, informal evening. There is a lovely Dungeon Bar in the castle that serves the best food and great pints (by all accounts, I’m sure Keith Delahunty will verify). As we are a very outdoorsy couple, we are going to do a gentle hike ( don’t worry no army boot camp!) at 4:30pm up the Slieveblooms so if that peaks anyone interest, bring along your hiking boots!
Kinnitty Castle is located at the foot of the beautiful Slievebloom mountain so there is plenty to do from Hiking, Mountain Biking (so Dónal says!), Horse Riding, a tennis court on the grounds of the Castle. At the Castle there is Whiskey Tasting experiences, archery, forest walks, fairy trails and loads more to explore!
We thought it important to put a note in about traveling as Kinnitty is quite literally located in the middle of nowhere (anyone who ever visited us out in Cahir will know that’s very much our vibe!). For anyone travelling from Tipperary/Limerick direction, google will give two routes - one through Roscrea or one through Birr. The road of Roscrea is the better of the two options but is still a very narrow, very windy road so please be careful and take your time driving - we want to make sure everyone arrives in one piece!
